We celebrate the small victories in each
of these children's lives
and hope to see them discover the world as a family even
as the
therapies, seizures and needs continue.
Grandmother Lorraine Bonk
Though
Ed's insurance has covered so much of the continuing
treatments, medications, therapies and equipment, there have
been caps, denials, and many out-of-pocket expenses. Over the
course of seven years, the whole situation has put this family
in crisis. The time spent with diagnoses and tests and treatments
has taken its toll they have co-pays, respite care expenses,
dietary needs not covered, home design adjustments for wheelchairs,
botox injections for Lindsay, and the wonderful world of Conductive
Education that Lindsay loves so much. Due to the more recent
diagnoses of Lindsay and Hannah, even more demands and expenses
keep mounting, and we all realize that a conversion van will
soon need to be in the picture.
We have all come to the realization that Diane and Ed just want
to give their family quality and time, but it all comes at an
enormous expense for which they cannot carry the burden alone.
We are depending on the generosity of others those who
know the family personally, and those who do not...perhaps those
who can just identify with a fraction of what this family endures
24 hours a day, seven days a week ...now for more than 7 YEARS!
The list is endless and the time for all of us to step up is
NOW.
